CCIQ appoints new Chief Executive Officer PDF Print
Chamber of Commerce & Industry Queensland (CCIQ) has announced the appointment of Stephen Tait to Chief Executive Officer of CCIQ, effective from 9 January 2012.

Stephen joins CCIQ with a strong commercial background gained through over 20 years operational and executive experience in media, marketing and sales, most recently as Commercial Director of APN Australian Regional Media and Commercial Director of The Australian.

Prior to this, Stephen has extensive media experience nationally and internationally with leading global media organisations.

On his appointment, Stephen Tait said he was excited to take on the leadership position with Chamber of Commerce & Industry Queensland and was looking forward to ensuring the organisation remained a trusted and valued partner for the Australian business community.

"Business plays a pivotal role in the lives of Queenslanders, creating opportunity and employment as the commercial backbone to the state and national economy." Mr Tait said.

"Having worked in media extensively in Queensland and nationally, I have an appreciation of the challenges faced by every level of the business community and, as we move toward a state election, it will be my key priority and that of CCIQ, to be a leading voice on all business issues, ensuring that business interests are at the forefront of the political agenda." Mr Tait said.

"Businesses can look forward to the Chamber continuing to take an innovative approach in providing support, tools and an extended range of services that will help businesses grow and succeed." Mr Tait said.

David Goodwin, President of CCIQ, commented "Stephen will bring a passion and commercial focus to CCIQ that will help us deliver even greater value for our membership as the peak industry body for all of Queensland business."
