Western Australian Water Minister Bill Marmion has welcomed a new chairperson and a new member to the Water Corporation board, each of whom brings a diverse array of experience and complementary skill sets.
Mr Marmion said he was pleased to announce that current board member Ms Eva Skira had been appointed chairperson of the board. Ms Skira has more than 17 years experience as a chair and board member at a number of Australian organisations. Mr Michael Hollett has been appointed to a two-year term on the Water Corporation board. He is executive director of National Lifestyle Villages and has a passion for water sensitive urban design. The Minister said he was delighted that the State Government-owned utility continued to attract high calibre and enthusiastic people to its board. "The board plays an important role providing strategic direction to the Water Corporation so we need appropriately skilled board members," he said. Mr Marmion thanked retiring chairperson Patrick O'Connor, member for nine years, for his contribution. "I thank Patrick O'Connor for his stewardship as chair and his long running commitment to the Water Corporation through a very challenging decade in the water sector." |

Victorian businessman and leading figure in the Chamber of Commerce movement Richard Holyman has been elected President of the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
